Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including home community care and healthcare facilities. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, elderly, or behavioral health needs. The Nursing Assistant will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
Provide support for patients with behavioral health challenges and those requiring developmental assistance.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control policies.
Engage with patients to promote emotional well-being and provide companionship.

Qualifications

Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience in home community care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Experience working with disabled or in behavioral health environments is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, personalized care to patients across various settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, and home care environments. Responsibilities

Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote independence and comfort.
Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Support medical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, phlebotomy (blood draws), and medication administration under supervision or according to scope of practice.
Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to nursing staff or healthcare providers to ensure timely intervention.
Maintain a safe environment by utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts and adhering to aseptic techniques during patient care activities.
Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while respecting HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, behavioral health needs, or developmental disabilities across memory care or behavioral health units.

Skills

Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU, trauma centers, PICU), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments.
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and infection control practices including aseptic technique.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and support complex procedures like catheter care or basic life support (BLS).
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health conditions; experience in dementia or Alzheimer's care is highly valued.
Strong caregiving skills with a focus on geriatrics, pediatrics, acute care (medical-surgical), hospice, or post-acute settings.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, therapists, and family members.
