Full Job Description

Position: Prepared Foods Team Member

Reports to: Prepared Foods Manager, Assistant Prepared Foods Manager and Manager on Duty

Status: Part Time Available

Rate: Hourly

Summary

The Prepared foods team member will prepare, cook, chill, and package various food items/ recipes. This team member will follow all safety protocols to assure the health and safety of our customers. Recipes are to be followed precisely in order to assure consistency, and to avoid the possibility of cross-contamination. We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude, ready to learn, can follow direction well, and has some experience in a kitchen.

Responsibilities

Prep, cook, chill, and package recipes provided by the prepared foods manager.
Follow food safety rules and regulations to ensure the health and safety of our customers.
Cleaning up work stations, doing dishes, wiping down and cleaning equipment, sweeping and mopping, and taking out the trash, recycling, and compost to designated areas.
Monitoring and recording temperatures of chilled foods, and refrigeration units.
Working with other team members to complete tasks for the shift, open to cross-training if needed to help out other team members.
Helping other team member to put away food orders.

Customer Service

Provide prompt, friendly and courteous customer service at all times.
Answer customer questions, complaints and feedback, ensuring the needs of customers are met in a timely fashion
Inform customers of pertinent store information
Maintain familiarity with monthly specials and promotions
Become familiar with Co-op values, policies and procedures to answer customer and staff questions
Assist with opening and closing of the sales floor

Other

Be a team player, with a positive attitude whose open to learning.
Understand the importance of food safety and following instructions.
Support coworkers through punctuality and regular attendance.

Qualifications

Culinary skills- Experience in a kitchen or kitchen setting is Required.
Basic knife safety and skills.
Food safety knowledge required.
Commitment to superior customer service and to provide the highest quality shopping experience for our customers
Excellent communication and listening skills
Ability to work well with others in a cooperative environment where teamwork and constant communication are essential
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to stay focused

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
