Construction Accounting Manager / Full-Charge BookkeeperQuickBooks, Buildertrend, Job Costing, Payroll, AP/AR and Cash-Flow Reporting

About Us

We are a growing residential construction company dedicated to quality craftsmanship, accountability, and exceptional customer service. We are seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Manager / Full-Charge Bookkeeper to oversee all day-to-day accounting operations and provide accurate financial reporting that supports company growth.

This position is ideal for someone who has worked in the construction industry and understands accounting procedures, job costing, subcontractor billing, retainage, work-in-progress reporting, and construction financial management.

Responsibilities

Manage the company's complete accounting functions.
Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Prepare customer invoices and monitor collections.
Process weekly payroll.
Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Maintain accurate job costing and project budgets.
Monitor committed costs and project profitability.
Prepare monthly financial statements, cash-flow reports, and management reports.
Work closely with project managers and ownership regarding project costs and budgets.
Manage subcontractor payments, lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and vendor documentation.
Track purchase orders and change orders.
Prepare year-end information for CPA review.
Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and internal controls.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in residential or commercial construction.
Strong understanding of construction job costing.
Experience processing payroll.
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Experience producing financial statements and management reports.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using QuickBooks Desktop
Experience with Buildertrend.
Knowledge of construction contracts and retainage.
Understanding of work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
Experience preparing cash-flow projections.
Familiarity with 1099, W2 preparation.
