Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Assistant, or Companion, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support. In this rewarding position, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to clients across various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure that each individual receives respectful, attentive care tailored to their unique needs. This paid role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your skills in patient observation, medication administration, and specialized care such as dementia and Alzheimer's support.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and reporting changes promptly using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
Support patients with memory care needs, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and hospice care with patience and understanding
Administer medications accurately following medical terminology guidelines and HIPAA privacy standards
Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, catheters, and other assistive devices safely and effectively
Maintain detailed medical documentation and records to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe environment for clients
Assist with medical procedures like catheter care and vital signs measurement while adhering to safety protocols
Provide companionship that promotes emotional well-being and social engagement for individuals with disabilities or long-term care needs
Support clients during transitions within assisted living or home & community care settings ensuring comfort and dignity

Experience

Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments preferred
Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care documentation systems such as EMR/EHR systems
Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments like dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
Knowledge of hospice care practices and working with patients requiring palliative support
Hands-on experience using mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices
Long-term care experience is highly valued along with skills in patient observation and working within HIPAA guidelines
Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with seniors or individuals with disabilities in a home or community setting
