Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Materials Planner to join our 1st Shift team. This position is based at our Fayetteville, NC facility.
Position Overview:
Responsible for planning, procuring, and expediting of all materials while identifying and implementing resolutions for materials issues and shortages within the plant consistent with operating objectives. Works with Buyers, Stagers, Steel Clerks, Assembly Technicians, production, and suppliers to assure the effective operation of the Kanban and AML system. Assist in implementing ELS (Lean Manufacturing) techniques throughout the plant and division as required.
In this function you will:
- Purchase Kanban and AML material via MRP through MAPICS and AS400, including material purchases for the CMSC’s
- Interpret data to make the right purchasing or planning decisions
- Expedite materials with suppliers to improve dates to meet customer needs, via email, Vista, and phone
- Acknowledge and Maintain Shortage dates
- Review MCC schedule and provide updates in production meetings
- Maintain supplier promise dates in MAPICS browser for every purchase order
- Proactively manage potential material shortages via MATSYNC (PO past dues, PO critical overdues, PO no promise dates, PO review)
- Follow buyer and supervisor escalation process
- Serve as backup for other planners
- Conduct 5s Activities

Required Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Must have one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Fayetteville, NC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills (working with programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Vista).
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a material planning role
- Broad knowledge of manufacturing operations and working knowledge of formal manufacturing control systems.
- Understand basic electrical controls and production inventory control techniques (such as Just-In-Time orientation)
Position Criteria:
- Working Knowledge of MAPICS systems, Inventory Transactions, and Kanban System.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure parts and components are delivered on time and meet quality specifications.
- Work with customers, suppliers, and transportation providers as required.
- The position may require overtime and flexing hours across several shifts.
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Strong math capabilities.
