Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting activities that support the organization's financial reporting and month-end close process. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and experience working within a large ERP system to ensure the accuracy of financial records and reporting.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare and post complex journal entries related to payroll, travel and expense (T&E), and other general ledger transactions.
Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.
Analyze general ledger activity, identify unusual variances, and prepare appropriate adjusting entries.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes while meeting established deadlines.
Research accounting issues and provide recommendations for resolving discrepancies.
Utilize ERP systems to maintain accurate financial records and improve reporting efficiency.
Prepare financial schedules, supporting documentation, and management reports.
Collaborate with payroll, finance, and operational teams to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel functions to analyze large data sets, reconcile accounts, and prepare reporting.
Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing supporting documentation and analysis.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
Support special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting and month-end close responsibilities.
Experience preparing high-volume, complex journal entries and performing detailed account reconciliations.
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
Experience working within a large ERP system; SAP experience is highly preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, and working with large datasets.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Willingness to work onsite during month-end close, including occasional overtime as needed, with a hybrid schedule avail

Pay: $85,471.00 - $95,000.00 per year
