Front of House Manager

Storia Cucina | Bellingham, WA

About Storia Cucina

Storia Cucina is a chef-owned Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Bellingham, built around handmade pasta, pizza, craft cocktails, seasonal ingredients, genuine hospitality, and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences. We believe great restaurants are built by great people, and we're looking for a hospitality driven leader to help guide our front of house team.

Position Summary

We're seeking an experienced Front of House Manager who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about hospitality. This is a hands on management position requiring someone who enjoys being on the floor, coaching employees, connecting with guests, and maintaining the high standards that define Storia Cucina.

The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, and committed to building a positive team culture while delivering exceptional guest experiences every day.

Responsibilities

Lead daily front-of-house operations and serve as Manager on Duty during shifts.
Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train new front-of-house team members.
Coach, mentor, and develop employees while maintaining a positive, accountable culture.
Create weekly staff schedules and manage labor to meet budget goals.
Ensure exceptional guest service by addressing concerns professionally and creating memorable dining experiences.
Maintain service standards, cleanliness, and organization throughout the restaurant.
Conduct pre-shift meetings and ongoing service training.
Work closely with the kitchen leadership team to ensure seamless communication and execution.
Assist with menu updates, POS maintenance, and printed materials.
Monitor inventory of front-of-house supplies and place orders as needed.
Ensure compliance with health department regulations, alcohol service laws, and company policies.
Help create systems that improve efficiency, organization, and the overall guest experience.

Qualifications

3+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Experience with scheduling and labor management.
Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service.
Passion for hospitality, food, wine, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
