Full Job Description

Job Summary

Small law firm on Festus Main Street is seeking one or more Administrative Legal Assistant(s) to provide comprehensive administrative support to the firm to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the office. A proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help facilitate legal procedures, manage case documentation, and support client interactions. If you have experience in administrative work for the legal community, or would like to gain such experiences, this position offers an interesting opportunity to develop your legal administrative expertise while contributing to impactful legal work to provide meaningful assistance to clients. This firm provides services to clients in multiple areas of the law.

Responsibilities

Contact with clients via phone, email and in person.
Manage and maintain legal case files, including filings with the courts, and protecting confidentiality.
Assist with document preparation to support attorney's case preparation across diverse practice areas.
Assist with maintaining and updating the calendar regarding court appearances and client meetings.
Conduct thorough document review and data entry to ensure all case information is current and accurate.
Provide exceptional administrative support by handling phone inquiries with professionalism and maintaining organized filing systems for easy retrieval of case materials.

Requirements

Knowledge of WORD, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook.
Willing to learn new tasks, including some legal and bookkeeping programs.
Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; proofreading accuracy is essential.
Excellent people skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in an often fast-paced environment, but able to remain productive when the pace temporarily slows down.
Outstanding communication skills with professional phone etiquette; ability to interact confidently with clients and team members.
Either is a Notary Public or able to go through the simple steps to become one.
