WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
The Take Off / Lift Operator is primarily responsible to use machines according to safety standards around the production line that stacks, tapes, and bundles gypsum wallboard board together for outbound shipments to customers. The successful candidate will also be responsible to add spacers (known as sluetters) between stacks of bundled wallboard, performing timely quality inspections on a regular schedule using an internal computer and written system(s), ensuring the accuracy of production count, and transporting the bundled gypsum wallboard to the correct area of the warehouse operating a forklift and other equipment.
The Take Off / Lift Operator reports directly to the Shift Manager and works 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. We are currently recruiting for three (3) Night Shift openings.

Essential Duties:
- Champion a safety-first culture by adhering to all safety policies, procedures, Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) requirements, and workplace safety initiatives.
- Operate bundler, stacker, forklift, and related equipment safely and efficiently to produce and move wallboard in accordance with quality and production standards.
- Perform routine quality inspections, maintain accurate product counts, and promptly escalate quality or production concerns to appropriate leadership.
- Load, transport, stage, and store finished wallboard products within the warehouse while complying with all traffic patterns and material-handling requirements.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections, refueling, and basic equipment maintenance to ensure operational readiness and safe performance.
- Support line operations by replenishing production materials and consumables, clearing rejected product, and maintaining continuous workflow.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, responding to production upsets, and supporting corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment through adherence to housekeeping standards and operational best practices.
- Complete required documentation, data entry, inventory tracking, safety audits, incident reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives accurately and on time.
- Collaborate effectively with team members by participating in shift meetings, training programs, safety committees, and continuous improvement activities while maintaining reliable attendance and punctuality.
Work Environment:
- Works in a manufacturing plant environment with limited HVAC, concrete floors, and exposure to industrial noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature changes.
- Normal plant operation is 24 hours, 7 days a week and work hours may vary depending on business needs.
- May require long hours, and weekend and holiday work.
Physical Demands:
- Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated
- Perform tasks that require extensive and rigorous walking, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling, gripping, stair, and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain, and occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs.
- May require long periods of sitting, walking, standing, working on a computer, or engaging in telephone conversations.

Provided is the local pay range for this position, which is $29.29 to $32.63 per hour, plus 2nd and 3rd Shift differential of $1.15 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 5 or 6% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks) for this position, is $63,969 to $71,942. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:
- Shift Differentials (Hourly Rate + Shift Differential of $1.15 per hour)
- Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate X 1.5) and Double-Time ( Hourly Rate X 2)
