Dental Administrative Assistant / Dental Front Office Receptionist

Phillips Dental Care Center | Findlay, Ohio
Schedule: 4 days per week No weekends

Office Hours: M-W 8:30a-5:00p, Thurs 7:00a-3:00p

Join Our Dental Front Office Team!

Phillips Dental Care Center is a well-established, progressive dental practice in Findlay, OH, seeking an experienced Dental Administrative Assistant / Dental Receptionist to join our front office team.

We are looking for a friendly, professional, dependable dental administrative professional with previous dental office, dental front desk, dental receptionist, or dental administrative assistant experience. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with dental patients and has experience with patient scheduling, dental insurance, insurance verification, dental billing, claims, collections, electronic medical records (EMR), and patient communication.

Our Administrative Assistants play an essential role in creating an exceptional patient experience and keeping our dental office running efficiently. If you are an experienced dental front office professional who enjoys helping patients, working as part of a team, and taking pride in excellent customer service, we would love to meet you!

This is a 4-day-per-week position with no weekends, competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and opportunities for advancement.

Dental Front Office Responsibilities

Greet and welcome patients in a friendly, professional, and enthusiastic manner.
Answer incoming phone calls, respond to patient questions, and direct calls appropriately.
Check patients in and out while ensuring all necessary information is accurate and up to date.
Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments according to office protocols.
Communicate appointment information, treatment needs, and other relevant details clearly with patients and the clinical team.
Collect patient payments, balances, and applicable fees while following established financial procedures.
Assist with insurance verification, claims-related questions, and other routine insurance responsibilities as applicable.
Monitor the daily schedule and help identify opportunities to improve patient flow and minimize gaps or delays.
Communicate with clinical team members regarding schedule changes, patient needs, and other day-to-day operational concerns.
Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming reception area and front desk environment.
Assist with patient records, forms, correspondence, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with office policies and applicable regulations.
Handle patient concerns or service issues professionally and involve appropriate leadership when additional support or resolution is needed.
Support the front desk team by helping maintain consistent office procedures, service standards, and expectations.
Lead by example in demonstrating the practice’s core values, professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to excellent patient care.
Assist with opening and closing front desk responsibilities as assigned.
Support other administrative and operational needs of the practice as necessary to ensure a positive patient and employee experience.

Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or GED (required)
Previous dental/medical administrative experience preferred
Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
Excellent communication and telephone etiquette
Exceptional customer service and professionalism
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent attention to detail
Dependable, motivated, and willing to learn
Positive, caring personality and a genuine desire to help dental patients
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
