Full Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Group Therapist is responsible to act as a support system for individuals admitted to Findlay Recovery Center for behavioral healthcare services, detoxification and residential treatment. The Group Therapist is responsible to act as a guide to teach individuals challenged with a substance use or co-occurring problem how to modify their behavior with the intention of attaining long-term sustained sobriety by using evidenced-based therapeutic approaches, interventions and modalities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

1. EDUCATION:

Graduated from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or health-related field. license expected to have: LSW, MSW, or LPC.

2. EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience working directly with clients having substance related disorders and 2 years of group therapy experience using a variety of treatment modalities preferred.

3. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Licensure to practice clinical discipline in the appropriate state, as applicable, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counseling and Licensed Certified Addiction Counselor preferred.

4. KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:

Demonstrate strong skills for de-escalating and managing crisis
Demonstrate a willingness to stay updated on new treatments, protocols, and licensure requirements within the field
Ability to work independently or as part of a team

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION

Responsible to conduct daily group therapy sessions.
Responsible for establishing a positive and trusting relationships with clients and their families.
Responsible to continually assess client situations and provide the proper ongoing treatment interventions.
Responsible to document client progress and maintain concise, timely and adequate notes on all client interactions and sessions.
Responsible for completing substance use assessments using ASAM Patient Placement criteria for admissions, continued stay, and discharge.
Responsible for following client confidentiality as outlined in 42 CFR Part 2 and 45 CFR - HIPPA and relevant state laws.
Responsible for coordinating services and consulting with treating practitioners for all co-occurring disordered clients and treatment plans accordingly.
Responsible to attend and participate in weekly clinical meetings and provide clinical input.
Responsible for participating in in-service and online training as required.Responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments (DBT training, ASAM admission, Bio-psychosocial assessment, Trauma Screen, Columbia Suicide Risk Assessment), as required and medically necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
