CNC Machinist / Programmer

Praxsym, Inc. is a small manufacturing company located in Fisher, Illinois. Praxsym manufactures various products used in the Aerospace and Defense and wireless testing industries. Praxsym also provides contract manufacturing services for other companies.
We are looking for a CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our machine shop. The ideal candidate is someone with real-world CNC machining or programming experience. Experience with both is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person in the areas where they have less experience. We expect to have several months of overlap with our current machinist to allow for a thorough transition and hands-on training.
About the position
The machine shop supports both Praxsym's own products and outside customers. The work includes CNC milling and turning, programming, inspection, and general machine shop duties. We recently integrated a CMM into our inspection capabilities, allowing the shop to receive immediate feedback on parts and make adjustments as needed.
The person in this position will work closely with the Operations Manager to plan and prioritize jobs, meet customer requirements, and keep work on schedule. The position also provides an opportunity to become involved in quoting, determining machining approaches, purchasing materials and tooling, and helping expand the capabilities of our machine shop.
CNC programming is currently done using Fusion 360. Experience with Fusion 360 is preferred, but experience with other CNC programming/CAM systems will be considered.
