Company Overview

Position Summary

Modern Cabinet Company is seeking a highly organized and proactive Plant Administration & Compliance Coordinator to support our manufacturing operations. This position will be responsible for managing compliance programs, safety documentation, employee training records, environmental recordkeeping, and administrative functions that help keep the facility operating efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will serve as a key support resource for the Plant Manager by taking ownership of compliance administration, employee recordkeeping, safety documentation, and various HR and payroll-related administrative tasks, allowing production leadership to focus on manufacturing operations, quality, scheduling, and customer service.

Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance & Safety Administration

Maintain OSHA compliance documentation and records.
Coordinate employee safety training and certifications.
Maintain forklift operator training and evaluation records.
Conduct routine safety audits and inspections.
Track and document corrective actions.
Maintain OSHA injury and illness logs.
Ensure required workplace postings and notices remain current.

Environmental & Hazardous Waste Compliance

Maintain hazardous waste records and manifests.
Monitor waste accumulation and storage requirements.
Coordinate waste disposal pickups and documentation.
Assist with NYS DEC compliance requirements.
Maintain environmental compliance files and records.

SDS & Chemical Management

Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records and books.
Ensure SDS documentation is current and accessible.
Coordinate updates from vendors and suppliers.
Assist with Hazard Communication compliance requirements.
Maintain chemical inventories and documentation.

Administrative Support

Support the Plant Manager with administrative tasks and projects.
Maintain production, compliance, and operational records.
Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and tracking logs.
Coordinate meetings, training sessions, and inspections.
Track deadlines, certifications, and recurring compliance requirements.
Assist with document management and record retention.

HR & Payroll Support

Assist with employee onboarding paperwork.
Maintain personnel and training records.
Support payroll data collection and review.
Track attendance, training, and certification records.
Assist with benefits administration and employee communications.
Support various HR-related administrative functions as needed.

Qualifications

Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.
Manufacturing, compliance, HR, safety, or office administration experience preferred.

They are comfortable interacting with both office and production personnel, can manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and take pride in keeping systems, documentation, and compliance programs running smoothly.

Success in This Position

Within the first year, this person will:

Maintain organized and up-to-date compliance records.
Ensure OSHA and environmental documentation is current.
Keep SDS books and training records current.
Manage injury reporting and workers compensation paperwork effectively.
Support HR and payroll administration.
Significantly reduce the administrative workload of the Plant Manager.
Become the primary coordinator for compliance, documentation, and administrative follow-up throughout the facility.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
