Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Clinical Officer provides clinical and programmatic leadership as an integral part of TGC's executive leadership team. The primary function of this position is to lead efforts to strengthen and expand TGC's current services to meet the integrated health needs of Coconino County. The Chief Clinical Officer provides direct administrative leadership to the Clinical Program Directors and managers. In addition, this individual plays a critical role in furthering TGC's strategic objectives while ensuring that all staff is working collaboratively and in the interest of the people they serve. The Chief Clinical Officer nurtures effective relationships and partnerships both within and external to the organization, enhancing TGC's public reputation as a provider of quality care. The Chief Clinical Officer maintains a culture of inclusiveness and transparency, a commitment to staff satisfaction and professional growth, and an understanding of the importance of delivering positive outcomes for the clients we serve. Through collaboration with the CEO and executive leaders, the Chief Clinical Officer is a strong advocate, effectively and positively influencing public policy to support community behavioral health and the clients we serve.

SUPERVISES

Clinical Directors of the following programs: Severely Mentally Ill, General Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Child and Family Services, Crisis Services, and Behavioral Health Residential Facilities.

POSITION DUTIES

Serves as a member of the executive leadership team, consulting on organizational, programmatic, planning, budgeting and other matters related to clinical treatment program issues.

Provides clinical direction, supervision and coordination as appropriate for professional and other leadership staff and consultants.

Participates in the design and development of new programs and facilities.

Develops and implements behavioral health delivery systems, policies and procedures appropriate to the populations served, and monitors their administration to ensure compliance.

Develops and implements methodologies for the evaluation of programs and provides evaluation reports as required.

Determines clinical training needs of staff and develops, provides and /or secures programs to address those needs.

Participate in business and strategic planning and implementation.

Collaborates with TGC's QI & Compliance department to maintain Joint Commission Accreditation.

Ensure Clinical Programs adhere to all legal and accreditation standards.

Supports clinical staff in achieving high customer satisfaction.

Assist clinical directors in setting budget allocations and allowing responsible expenditures.

Participates in TGC's performance improvement initiatives

Adheres to and supports the organization's Code of Conduct and compliance programs

Assures responsible use of financial resources as determined through use of a departmental profit and loss statement.

Demonstrates a willingness to learn.

Acts as a strong Ambassador of TGC.

Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

This position is 100% onsite/TGC campus, in the state of Arizona.

This position is categorized as essential staff.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Master's degree and licensure in a field of mental health.

Minimum 10 years of progressive supervisory experience in a field of mental health.

Experience with licensure and accreditation processes, including Joint Commission accreditation.

Knowledge of and experience with managed care principles and practices.

Experience designing & implementing effective services in both private and public payer sectors.

Experience working in a highly regulated and competitive environment.

Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations appropriate to administration of The Guidance Center's clinical treatment environments and programs.

Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Must be at least 21 years of age.
