Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager - Utility Division (Renewable Energy)
Location: Project Site-Based
Duration: Immediate opening through February 2028, with continued opportunities on future projects within the Utility Division.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support utility-scale renewable energy projects within our Utility Division. This role will work closely with Project Managers and field leadership to assist with project administration, documentation, scheduling, billing, and coordination activities. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience working as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager on a renewable energy project site. Experience with overhead power line construction or electrical systems is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, submission, and tracking of RFIs and maintain the project RFI log.
- Assist with preparing, submitting, and tracking project submittals.
- Manage project drawings, revisions, and distribution of updated drawings for the project.
- Assist in preparing, submitting, and maintaining change orders and change order logs.
- Support the preparation of monthly billings and Schedules of Values (SOVs).
- Assist Project Managers with developing and maintaining project schedules.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation and records.
- Attend weekly Owner/GC meetings.
- Attend daily E Light POT and morning meetings.
- Assist the PM and upper management in reviewing contracts and preparing subcontracts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager on a renewable energy project site.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy construction processes and day-to-day project operations.
- Very fluent in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Very fluent in Procore.
- Very fluent in Bluebeam.
- Fluent in Microsoft Project.
- Very strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with overhead powerlines or electrical construction is a strong plus.
