The Discovery Preschools is seeking a highly organized, entrepreneurial and growth-focused Marketing Manager to lead our social media, marketing communications, lead flow and enrollment support across multiple preschool locations.
This person will be responsible for telling our story, strengthening our brand, increasing awareness and helping move prospective families from initial interest through enrollment.
The right candidate is highly creative and able to consistently develop fresh content ideas without waiting to be told what to create. They must be an excellent writer, highly tech-savvy, emotionally intelligent and able to manage multiple priorities without losing attention to detail.
This is also a hands-on role within a growing small business. While marketing will be the primary focus, every member of our leadership and administrative team helps support the school when needed. Candidates must genuinely love children, feel completely comfortable in a preschool environment and be willing to occasionally step into a classroom to cover a bathroom break, help during a transition or support staff during a busy moment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media and Content Creation
- Manage the daily social media presence for all school locations
- Develop original, creative content ideas that strengthen the brand and drive engagement
- Create, film, edit and publish high-quality Reels quickly and consistently
- Capture engaging photos and videos throughout the schools
- Stay current on social media trends and identify ways to adapt them appropriately for our brand
- Create and manage content calendars that align with enrollment goals, school events and business priorities
- Write high-quality captions, stories, announcements and promotional content
- Respond promptly and professionally to comments, direct messages, reviews and online inquiries
- Monitor engagement and identify opportunities to strengthen our online presence
- Maintain a consistent brand voice, visual style and message across all platforms
- Ensure all content follows school privacy policies and parent permissions
- Highlight our programs, educators, facilities, events and student experiences
- Create content independently without relying on leadership to provide every idea or direction
- Move quickly from concept to execution while maintaining accuracy and quality
Growth Strategy and Lead Flow
- Develop and execute marketing strategies focused on enrollment and long-term business growth
- Bring an entrepreneurial mindset to the role by identifying new ideas, opportunities and revenue-supporting initiatives
- Manage incoming leads from social media, the website, email, phone and outside platforms
- Respond to prospective families quickly, professionally and consistently
- Track each lead through the inquiry, tour, follow-up and enrollment process
- Create systems to ensure no lead or follow-up opportunity is missed
- Monitor lead sources, conversion rates and enrollment trends
- Identify opportunities to improve lead quality and tour conversion
- Partner with admissions and school leadership to support enrollment goals
- Create follow-up campaigns for families who inquire, tour or remain undecided
- Maintain organized and accurate lead records
- Provide regular reporting on marketing activity, lead flow and performance
- Research competitors, industry trends and local market opportunities
- Recommend and test new marketing ideas, campaigns and partnerships
Tours and Enrollment Support
- Assist with school tours when needed
- Communicate the value of The Discovery Preschools clearly and confidently
- Build strong relationships with prospective families
- Answer questions about our programs, philosophy and school experience
- Follow up with families after tours and help move them toward enrollment
- Ensure families receive timely, polished and accurate information
- Maintain a high level of professionalism during all family interactions
- Support open houses, enrollment events and community outreach
Written Communication
- Write polished notifications, announcements and updates for parents and staff
- Draft emails, newsletters, event communications and school-wide messages
- Edit communications for clarity, tone, grammar and consistency
- Ensure all messaging accurately reflects the school’s standards and brand
- Communicate sensitive or important information with professionalism and emotional intelligence
- Support leadership with parent, staff, media and community communications
- Adapt messaging appropriately for different audiences and situations
- Proofread all communications carefully before they are distributed
- Maintain a high standard of written communication across every platform
Public Relations and Brand Awareness
- Support the school’s public relations strategy and overall brand reputation
- Draft press releases, media pitches, talking points and public announcements
- Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets, community organizations and business partners
- Identify opportunities for media coverage, local recognition and thought leadership
- Coordinate press opportunities related to school growth, events, scholarships, educational initiatives and new locations
- Monitor the school’s online reputation and respond appropriately to public feedback
- Assist leadership with crisis communication and sensitive public messaging when needed
- Ensure all public-facing communication is accurate, professional and aligned with the brand
New School Launch
- Play an active role in launching and marketing a new school location
- Develop pre-opening marketing plans, campaigns and timelines
- Build local awareness before the school opens
- Support lead generation, community partnerships and prospective family outreach
- Create launch content, advertising campaigns and promotional materials
- Coordinate open houses, preview events and community engagement opportunities
- Track launch-related leads and enrollment progress
- Work closely with ownership, admissions and school leadership throughout the opening process
- Help ensure the new location opens with strong brand visibility and enrollment momentum
- Bring new ideas and creative strategies to make the launch stand out in the market
Events and Community Engagement
- Support approximately 6 weekend events each year for approx. 4-6 hours
- Plan, promote and execute school and community events
- Represent The Discovery Preschools professionally at public events
- Build relationships with local businesses, organizations and community partners
- Create event marketing materials and social media coverage
- Capture and publish content during events
- Communicate with attending and prospective families
- Support open houses, enrollment events and school celebrations
School-Wide Support
The Discovery Preschools is a growing small business, and this position requires flexibility, ownership and a team-first mindset.
Responsibilities may occasionally include:
- Supporting the front office during high-volume times
- Helping staff and families with basic questions
- Assisting with school events, transitions or operational needs
- Stepping into a classroom briefly to cover a bathroom break
- Supporting staff when an immediate need arises
- Helping wherever needed to ensure the school continues running smoothly
Required Education and Experience
Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a closely related field
- At least five years of direct professional experience in a marketing role

Strong technology skills are a vital part of this position.

- The Marketing Manager will have access to sensitive information involving children, families, staff, enrollment and business operations.
- This person must maintain strict confidentiality, use excellent judgment and follow all school privacy and photo permission policies.
- The Marketing Manager is expected to represent the school professionally in person, in writing and online. Every message, post, response, Reel and public interaction should reflect the high standards of The Discovery Preschools.
Compensation and Childcare
- Compensation and the availability of complimentary childcare will be discussed during the interview process and will be based on the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications and overall fit for the position.

- The right person is equally comfortable creating a growth strategy, filming and editing a Reel, writing a polished parent notification, responding to a social media inquiry, pitching a local news story, tracking enrollment leads, helping with a school tour and stepping into a classroom for ten minutes when the team needs support.
