Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our vibrant legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support a diverse range of legal practices, including estate planning, environmental law, litigation, family law, and more. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and passionate about delivering exceptional legal administrative support. In this role, you will assist attorneys with case management, legal research, document preparation, and client communication, ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the firm. This paid position is perfect for someone eager to grow their legal career while contributing to impactful legal work.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys across multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, litigation, and tribal law.
Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support case development and strategy.
Assist with document review, drafting legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw; ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
Coordinate client interviews and maintain effective communication with clients regarding case status and procedural requirements.
Support litigation activities by preparing trial exhibits, proofreading filings, transcribing depositions or court proceedings, and organizing evidence.
Handle data entry tasks related to case management systems while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with procedural laws.
Assist with administrative duties such as filing documents with courts or agencies, managing calendars for court deadlines, and organizing meetings or hearings.
Conduct legal research on specific practice areas including securities law, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, family law, tribal regulations, and immigration law.
Provide executive administrative support by managing correspondence, answering phones with professionalism, and maintaining organizational efficiency.

Requirements

Proven paralegal experience or relevant legal administrative experience in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of procedural law across various practice areas such as litigation, estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, patent law, tribal law & regulations, workers’ compensation law, personal injury law & case experience.
Proficiency in legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis; familiarity with PCLaw and iManage is highly desirable.
Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and proofreading; ability to transcribe accurately when needed.
Skilled in document review and management systems; capable of handling data entry with precision.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for interacting with clients and team members effectively.
Knowledge of UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) laws and procedural rules applicable in various jurisdictions is a plus.
Experience supporting attorneys in project management tasks across diverse practice areas such as land use projects or securities transactions is advantageous.
