Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Director of Nursing Services for our Hospice program. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in nursing administration, hospice care, and management, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care. In this leadership role, you will oversee clinical operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and foster a collaborative environment that promotes quality care delivery across all nursing services.

Duties

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing departments within the hospice setting, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to individual patient needs, emphasizing comfort and dignity in end-of-life care.
Supervise nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct caregivers, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and ongoing training to promote professional growth.
Oversee documentation review processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical record standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care delivery, manage resources effectively, and optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain compliance with Medicare regulations, state licensing requirements, and accreditation standards related to hospice services.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently for documentation, reporting, and quality assurance purposes.
Lead shift management activities ensuring appropriate staffing levels while fostering a positive work environment focused on teamwork and excellence.

Skills

Extensive experience in hospice care with a solid understanding of assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health services, and acute care environments.
Proven management skills with supervising experience in nursing administration or nurse management roles.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the principles of nursing practice within hospice settings.
Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for documentation review and medical records management.
Excellent leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate teams and manage shift operations effectively.
In-depth understanding of Medicare regulations, HIPAA compliance standards, and documentation protocols related to hospice care.
Ability to develop comprehensive care plans that meet regulatory standards while addressing individual resident needs.
Effective communication skills essential for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, families, and external agencies.
