RN Admission Coordinator

Location: Flint, MI 48507

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate RN Admission Coordinator to join our team at a medical-psychiatric hospital in Flint, MI. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating admissions in a med-psych setting, ensuring smooth and efficient patient intake processes while maintaining high standards of care and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the admission process for patients entering the medical-psychiatric hospital.
Conduct initial assessments and screenings to determine patient eligibility and appropriate level of care.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate timely admissions.
Ensure all admission documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referral sources to provide information and support throughout the admission process.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospital services, policies, and procedures related to admissions.
Assist in discharge planning and coordinate with case management as needed.

Qualifications

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
Experience working in a medical-psychiatric hospital or similar behavioral health setting.
Strong knowledge of admission procedures, patient assessment, and care coordination.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
