Job Summary
The Medical Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare facilities by providing essential administrative support. This position involves interacting with patients, managing medical records, and assisting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of medical terminology and experience in various medical settings, including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine.

Duties

Manage patient intake processes, including collecting personal information and medical history.
Schedule appointments and coordinate patient visits for outpatient and inpatient services.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks such as documentation and coding (ICD coding).
Monitor and record vital signs as required during patient visits.
Provide basic life support when necessary and assist in medication administration.
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans and follow-up care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient service and care delivery.
Support clinical staff in various settings, including emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, and surgical units.
Ensure a clean and organized work environment conducive to patient care.

Skills

Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding.
Experience with EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient management.
Familiarity with various medical specialties such as dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and outpatient services.
Ability to perform basic life support and monitor vital signs accurately.
Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and service delivery.
Previous experience in a clinical setting such as a Level I or Level II trauma center, PICU, or operating room is preferred.
Understanding of medication administration protocols within inpatient settings.
Capability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting healthcare delivery while ensuring an exceptional experience for patients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
