Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a 2nd Shift Full-Time Medication Aide, working from 2pm to 10pm! This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality medication management and resident care in a dynamic senior living or healthcare environment. As a Medication Aide, you'll play a crucial part in enhancing residents' well-being by administering medications accurately and supporting their daily needs with enthusiasm and professionalism. This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities while working in a vibrant, team-oriented setting.

Duties

Safely administer prescribed medications to residents following all state healthcare regulations and facility policies
Assist residents with personal care activities, including hygiene, mobility, and daily routines
Monitor and record vital signs, medication effects, and overall health status using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as PCC or similar platforms
Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medication logs, care plans, and incident reports
Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, or memory care programs
Communicate effectively with nursing staff, residents, families, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Follow infection control protocols including HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills

Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals or home care environments with geriatric or disabled populations
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care best practices
Certification in First Aid and CPR (including First Aid and Basic Life Support) is required
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like PCC or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation
Ability to perform manual handling tasks and heavy lifting safely while providing resident personal care assistance
Strong caregiver communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and residents’ families
Understanding of HIPAA guidelines for maintaining confidentiality and compliance
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or acute care services is highly valued
