Childcare Teacher – Young Pre-K Classroom
Charlie Brown Daycare & Preschool is looking for an experienced, compassionate, and RELIABLE Childcare Teacher to join our small, family-oriented center and work with our young Pre-K class.
We provide care and early childhood education for children from 6 weeks through age 4/5. Our goal is to create an enriched learning environment while providing a safe, nurturing, and compassionate “Home-Away-From-Home” for every child in our care.
About the Position
We are looking for someone who genuinely loves young children and enjoys getting to know their individual personalities, interests, and needs.
Our teachers use intentional teaching and positive guidance/discipline to help children learn, grow, and develop socially, emotionally, and academically. We want teachers who are patient, enthusiastic, creative, fun-loving, and ready to sing, dance, play, laugh, and “be silly” with our children!
Our families are very important to us. The successful candidate will be someone who communicates respectfully and effectively with children, families, and co-workers and who wants to be a positive part of our team.
Responsibilities
· Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that support early childhood learning and development.
· Create and maintain a clean, safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.

· Use positive guidance and intentional teaching strategies to support classroom learning and behavior.
· Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians about children’s progress, development, and needs.
· Plan, document, and coordinate an age-appropriate curriculum.
· Follow all health and safety requirements, including appropriate CPR and First Aid procedures.
· Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to develop curriculum ideas and age-appropriate classroom management strategies.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
· A High School Diploma or GED.
· At least 6 months of experience working in a licensed childcare center; one year or more is preferred.
· Early Childhood Education coursework or credentials are highly desirable, including ECD 101 or higher and/or CDA certification.
· Current CPR and First Aid certification.
· Excellent listening and communication skills.
· A warm, engaging, and positive demeanor.
· Creativity, compassion, patience, and professionalism.
· A genuine passion for working with young children.
· The ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
· Reliable transportation and a strong record of punctuality and attendance.
· The ability to sit on the floor, bend, stand, and actively participate in classroom activities.
· The ability to regularly lift children weighing up to 30 pounds.
· The ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug test.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is dependable, caring, and excited to make a difference in the lives of young children.
