Job Description

The Behavioral Health Group Facilitator is responsible for providing structured group therapy and psychoeducational programming to clients receiving treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. This role supports the clinical team by facilitating evidence-based group sessions, assisting with treatment planning goals, and ensuring accurate documentation of services provided. The Group Facilitator works collaboratively with therapists, medical staff, and case management to ensure clients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

Primary Job Description

Facilitate scheduled group therapy and psychoeducational groups for clients in substance use and mental health treatment programs

Assist in supporting treatment plan goals through structured group interventions and therapeutic engagement

Provide support to the clinical team by reinforcing treatment concepts and recovery-focused programming

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided in KIPU, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards

May provide individual therapy services and carry a caseload if appropriately licensed and assigned by the Clinical Director

Maintain documentation for individual services in accordance with clinical, regulatory, and payer standards

Ensure clinical documentation meets applicable quality, compliance, and payer standards

Communicate relevant client concerns and observations to the Clinical Director, therapists, Medical Director, and nursing staff as appropriate

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to support continuity of care and treatment engagement

Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, and consultation with the clinical management team

Maintain professional boundaries and therapeutic rapport with clients

Comply with all local, state, and federal confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2

Adhere to Seacrest Recovery Center’s code of ethics, policies, and professional standards

Qualifications

One of the following Ohio credentials required:

CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant)
LCDC II
LCDC III
QMHS (Qualified Mental Health Specialist)

Experience facilitating group therapy or psychoeducational groups in behavioral health or substance use treatment preferred

Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team

Knowledge of substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and recovery principles preferred
