Area Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Area Manager leads a high-performing team of frontline employees—including presales representatives, delivery drivers, and merchandisers—to deliver outstanding marketplace execution and exceptional customer service. This role is responsible for operational excellence, efficient delivery processes, and strict adherence to safety standards, while fostering team development and driving performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage, motivate, and coach presales, delivery, and merchandising teams to ensure timely, accurate product delivery and merchandising aligned with our AOP goals.
Ensure proper product rotation during service, execute merchandising standards on shelves and displays, maintain cold beverage equipment, and keep backroom areas clean and organized.
Review daily and weekly sales and operational targets, identify gaps, and implement improvement strategies.
Work closely with internal teams to guarantee accurate orders, timely deliveries, and merchandising that meets planogram standards.
Conduct frequent “work-with” sessions to develop selling, merchandising, and delivery skills.
Identify opportunities to enhance customer service, boost sales through impactful merchandising, improve delivery efficiency, and support employee work-life balance.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication and proactive issue resolution.
Enforce DOT and company safety standards across all operations.
Inspect assigned equipment regularly and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma required.
Minimum of 3 years of presales experience in a consumer products company preferably with a beverage or vending business.
Commercial Driver’s License required within 90 days.
Strong planning, organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.

ABILITIES

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent attention to detail/accuracy and multi-tasking skills.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality.
Strong customer service skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be physically and mentally able to successfully perform the essential elements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
The ability to hear, talk, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Vision requirements to do this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and high, precarious places. The noise level in the work area is usually moderate.
Travel is required to job sites, regional offices, and/or professional and community organization events.
