ABOUT SPEEDY CHICKEN TRANSPORTATION

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are hiring experienced CDL-A drivers to operate tractor-trailer combinations over regional and OTR routes throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Loads are primarily food-grade freight — refrigerated. Drivers are expected to operate safely, professionally, and efficiently while representing SCT and our clients at every stop.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Safely operate Class A tractor-trailer over assigned regional and OTR routes
Pick up and deliver loads on time, following all dispatch instructions and delivery windows
Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per FMCSA regulations
Complete and submit accurate Hours of Service logs via ELD (Samsara)
Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding load status, delays, or issues
Maintain a clean and professional appearance of your assigned equipment
Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies at all times
Handle food-grade freight with care — proper temp checks, seal verification, and paperwork accuracy
Represent Speedy Chicken Transportation and our clients with professionalism at every delivery

REQUIREMENTS

Non-Negotiable

Valid Class A CDL issued in your state of residence
Minimum 1 year of verifiable OTR or regional tractor-trailer experience
Clean MVR: no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
No DUI, DWI, reckless driving, or drug/alcohol violations in the past 5 years
Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred

Experience hauling refrigerated (reefer) or food-grade freight
Hazmat endorsement (not required but valued)
Familiarity with ELD systems — Samsara experience a plus
Experience operating across the Southeast corridor

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Long haul / OTR routes: competitive cents-per-mile (CPM) rate — negotiated based on experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to:

Sit for extended periods while operating a Class A vehicle
Load, unload, or assist with freight up to 50 lbs where required
Climb in and out of cab, hook/unhook trailers, and perform coupling/uncoupling
Meet all DOT physical examination standards
