NOW HIRING — CAREGIVER / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)
Location: Pee Dee Regional Center — Florence, SC | Full-Time & Part-Time | In Person
Pay Rate: $15.43/hr | Overtime Rate: $23.00/hr | #IND1

Medustrial Medical Staffing is currently hiring reliable, compassionate, and dependable Caregivers/DSPs to provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential special needs setting.

This Caregiver/DSP position is ideal for individuals who are patient, team-oriented, hands-on, and committed to providing quality care to adults with special needs and disabilities. Caregivers/DSPs play a vital role in helping residents live safely, comfortably, and with dignity while supporting their daily routines, independence, and personal goals.

ABOUT WORKING WITH SC DDSN:
The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) serves thousands of South Carolinians with autism, intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. As a Caregiver/DSP at a DDSN facility, you are not just filling a shift — you are directly improving the quality of life for some of South Carolina's most vulnerable residents. Caregivers/DSPs work within a structured, person-centered care model that prioritizes individual dignity, community inclusion, and personal goal achievement.

CAREGIVER/DSP RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct care and supervision to individuals with disabilities
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
Support residents with behavioral and emotional needs
Follow Individual Support Plans (ISP) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSP)
Administer and document medications
Transport residents to appointments and community activities
Complete daily documentation and incident reports
Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment
Assist residents with daily structure, routines, and active treatment goals

CAREGIVER/DSP SHIFT INFORMATION:

1st Shift, 2nd Shift & 3rd Shift Available
Set schedules only
Rotating weekends required
Holidays required

CAREGIVER/DSP ON-CALL REQUIREMENT:
All Caregivers/DSPs may be required to remain available for on-call coverage 4 hours before and 4 hours after their scheduled shift in the event of a call-out or staffing emergency. Flexibility, teamwork, and reliability are essential.

CAREGIVER/DSP DRESS CODE:
All Caregiver/DSP staff are expected to maintain a professional appearance at all times. Key requirements include:

Closed-toe, non-slip shoes required — no flip flops, Crocs, sandals, or open-toe shoes
No dangling jewelry, long necklaces, hoops, or nails extending past the fingertips
No hoodies worn with the hood up indoors — first offense results in a written warning
No joggers, leggings, pajamas, crop tops, low-cut clothing, or exposed undergarments
Hair must be pulled back in a bun or ponytail at all times — wild colors are prohibited
No cologne or perfume due to possible allergic reactions from residents
No backpacks or large bags on the floor — must be stored in designated lockers
Staff arriving out of dress code will be required to leave and change at their own expense

CAREGIVER/DSP REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED
Completed Physical
Current CPR & First Aid Certification
Current 2-Step TB Skin Test
Valid Driver's License
Two Forms of Government-Issued ID
Must pass background check and drug screening
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (required if transporting residents)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Minimum 1 year Caregiver/DSP experience preferred

Please note: Caregivers/DSPs are responsible for obtaining and covering the cost of required credentials, including physicals, CPR certification, and TB testing.
