Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Independent Living Resident Engagement & Support Specialist to enhance the quality of life for residents in our affordable housing community. This vital role involves fostering a supportive environment that promotes independence, social connection, and well-being among residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a thorough understanding of property management, and experience in social work or related fields. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by empowering residents through personalized support, community engagement, and resource coordination.

Duties

Resident Engagement & Programming Support

Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing Independent Living activities and programs
Support resident participation by encouraging involvement and building meaningful relationships
Help facilitate group activities, outings, and special events
Provide set-up, facilitation, and clean-up support for Life Enrichment programming
Monitor engagement trends and communicate resident interests and feedback to the Life Enrichment Coordinator

Resident Support & Social Services Assistance

Serve as a supportive resource for Independent Living residents, assisting with non-clinical needs and concerns
Help identify residents who may benefit from additional services and communicate appropriately to leadership
Provide basic guidance and direction to residents and families regarding available campus resources
Assist with transition support (move-ins, internal transfers, or increased service needs)
Partner with Resident Liaison and leadership to ensure timely follow-up on resident concerns or needs

Communication & Coordination

Support communication of programs, events, and resources to residents
Assist with flyers, calendars, sign-ups, and resident-facing materials
Maintain accurate participation records and assist with reporting needs
Collaborate with Life Enrichment, Dining, Wellness, and other departments to promote a cohesive resident experience

Administrative & Operational Support

Assist with supply organization and inventory for programming and engagement needs
Support general departmental organization and coverage as needed
Participate in care plan meetings or interdisciplinary discussions as directed
Provide occasional office or event coverage to ensure continuity of services

Qualifications

Experience in Life Enrichment, Social Services, Human Services, or a related field preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build rapport with older adults and support a variety of needs
Organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
Compassionate, service-oriented mindset

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
