Requirements:

Education: High School OR equivalent combination of higher education and 3+ years of relevant customer service, paralegal, or insurance experience.
Licensing: Active Florida Adjuster License (e.g., 6-20 or 5-20) or ability to obtain one within the first 90 days of employment.
Skills: Strong verbal/written communication, empathy, critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency with claims-related software, MS Office, and Mitchell Estimating experience are a plus.
Bilingual – Proficient in English/Spanish is mandatory (both written and verbal)

About the Position:

Hybrid position handling BI & PD claims for Transportation Division.
On scene accident investigations and conducting a field appraisal.
Fact gathering.
Liability determination.
Interacting and working with law officials that respond to the accident scene.
Identifying the cause of loss, taking photos, documenting damages and writing reports.
Evaluating and settling third party PD and BI claims at the accident site.
Complete estimate on the scene using estimating program.
Assessing and evaluating BI & PD claims.
Ensuring that claims are not fraudulent.
Contacting claimant's employers or doctors for additional information if the claim is questionable.
Conferring with Director of Risk Management as needed.
Negotiating settlements and authorizing payments.
Obtaining full notarized releases.
