Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Cuidador en <PERSON> to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in a residential or community setting. This vital role involves assisting residents with daily activities, monitoring their health, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment. The ideal candidate will bring energy, patience, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those they serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable caregiving skills.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, managing medication administration, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
Support residents with mobility and transfers using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
Maintain detailed care plans and document patient progress, observations, and any incidents in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and social engagement.
Ensure the safety of residents through manual handling, heavy lifting when required, and maintaining a clean, organized environment.

Requirements

Prior experience working as a caregiver in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred.
Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is essential.
Ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration accurately.
Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in hospice care or geriatrics are advantageous.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is highly valued.
Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks consistently.
