$16/hr | 15-week internship | 15–18 hours per week
Position Summary / About the Opportunity
The 4Roots Farm Intern Program offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven effort to build healthier communities through the power of food. Interns gain real-world experience in sustainable agriculture and farm operations while working alongside a team dedicated to transforming how people grow, access, and understand food.
Through day-to-day involvement in farm activities and initiatives, interns participate in hands-on training, learn sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices, and apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings. Interns develop practical skills, gain industry exposure, and support meaningful work that impacts both people and the planet. Each experience is designed to align with the intern’s interests while supporting the needs of the farm.
Interns will gain exposure to multiple areas of the 4Roots Farm Campus, rotating through and supporting key functions across the farm:

Greenhouse Operations – Assist with seeding, plant care, harvesting, and maintaining a clean and organized growing environment while supporting daily greenhouse operations.

Food Forest & Farm Production – Support planting, harvesting, crop maintenance, and overall farm operations while learning sustainable growing practices and working outdoors in a dynamic environment.

Floral & Horticulture – Assist with growing, harvesting, and preparing flowers, with opportunities to support floral design and contribute to the development of the farm’s floral program.
Interns will have the opportunity to engage in all areas, developing a well-rounded understanding of farm operations while building practical, hands-on skills.
Education & Experience

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

Field of study related to agriculture, environmental science, horticulture, biology, or similar
Skills & Attributes

Interest in sustainability, agriculture, and community impact

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Previous farm or horticulture experience is a plus
- Work may be indoors, outdoors, or in greenhouse environments

Exposure to heat, humidity, and physical labor

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Internship runs approximately 12 weeks
