Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a full-time Programs and Grants Specialist to manage a robust Career & Technical Education/Workforce Development program portfolio. The Program and Grant Specialist is a vital role responsible for securing and managing grant funding and supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County's programs, with a specific focus on workforce development and career readiness initiatives. This role requires a blend of excellent writing, organizational, program and project management skills, as well as a strong knowledge of the workforce development ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Research and Prospecting: Proactively identify, research, and evaluate potential grant opportunities from federal, state, corporate, and private foundations that align with the Foundation's mission, especially those related to workforce development and career-focused education.
Proposal Writing: Develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and required attachments, ensuring all submissions are accurate, persuasive, and meet funder guidelines and deadlines.
Compliance and Reporting: Manage awarded grants, tracking timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Prepare and submit timely, accurate, and comprehensive grant reports, ensuring full compliance with all grant agreements and regulatory requirements.
Funder Relations: Maintain strong communication and relationship management with current and prospective grantors.
Workforce Program Design: Collaborate with the Executive Team, School District, and external partners (employers, colleges, etc.) to design, develop, and implement high-impact workforce development and career education programs.
Project Management: Oversee the operational aspects of assigned programs, including budgeting, scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor program activities and outcomes, collecting and analyzing data to evaluate effectiveness. Recommend program modifications and improvements based on data and best practices in workforce training and programming.
Liaison: Serve as a key liaison between the Foundation, grant funders, School District staff, and external partners regarding program implementation and grant-funded activities. Administrative Tasks
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to grants and programs.
Assist with grant reporting and evaluation.
Contribute to the development of annual reports and other organizational materials, including social media content.
Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, education, public administration, or related field).
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in workforce development and/or Career and Technical Education. At least 3 years of grant writing and program management experience within a nonprofit organization.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

· Workforce Development Expertise:

o Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, policies, and best practices of workforce development programming, career and technical education (CTE), or sector-specific initiatives.

o Understanding of local and regional labor market trends in Palm Beach County and how to align educational programming with industry demands and high-growth sectors.

o Experience collaborating with employers, industry partners, and workforce agencies to create talent pipelines or career readiness opportunities.

· Other Skills

o Grant Writing Proficiency: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the proven ability to write clear, persuasive, and technically accurate grant proposals and reports.

o Project and Financial Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and perform grant-related budgeting, fiscal analysis, and monitoring of expenditures.

Data and Technology: Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting to evaluate program impact. Experience with database management systems (e.g., CRM or Donor Management software) and online grant management platforms is preferred. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and grant management software is required.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including school personnel, board members, funders, and community partners.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must have a valid driver's license

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
