Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic High School Science Teacher to inspire and educate students in the fascinating world of science. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop engaging curricula, foster curiosity, and cultivate a love for scientific discovery. As a vital member of our educational team, you will create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, experimentation, and collaborative learning. Your expertise will help students build a solid foundation in scientific principles while preparing them for future academic pursuits and real-world applications.

Responsibilities

Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that cover various scientific disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences.
Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate hands-on laboratory experiments to enhance understanding of complex concepts such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology.
Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, projects, and standardized exams, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that promotes respect, discipline, and active participation.
Incorporate modern learning technology and instructional design strategies to make lessons interactive and accessible for diverse learners.
Mentor students individually or in groups, offering academic advising and support tailored to their unique needs and interests.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects, participate in curriculum development initiatives, and contribute to school-wide educational goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education with a focus on Science or a related field; a Master’s degree or higher education teaching certification is preferred.
Proven classroom experience teaching high school science subjects with demonstrated success in student engagement and achievement.
Strong knowledge of scientific research methods, laboratory safety procedures, and laboratory experience including dissection techniques.
Proficiency in teaching advanced topics such as calculus, differential equations, discrete math, and physics concepts like trigonometry and geometry.
Familiarity with learning technology tools, educational software, and digital resources to enhance instruction.
Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, mentoring, parent interactions, and collaboration with staff.
Experience working with diverse student populations including those requiring special education accommodations or Montessori-based approaches is advantageous.
