Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal specializing in Family Law to join our dynamic legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support complex family law cases, assist with client interactions, and manage legal documentation efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in legal research, case management, and administrative support, with a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients navigating sensitive family matters. Duties

Assist attorneys with preparing and reviewing family law documents, including petitions, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and legal arguments.
Manage case files and documents using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Interview clients, witnesses, and other stakeholders to gather pertinent information for case development.
Prepare and organize discovery materials, pleadings, and court filings in compliance with procedural law requirements.
Coordinate court dates, deadlines, and appointments while maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams.
Support attorneys in trial preparation by reviewing evidence, drafting legal writing pieces, and managing case logistics.
Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and maintaining organized records of all case-related information.

Skills

Extensive knowledge of family law procedures, litigation support, and legal drafting techniques.
Proficiency in legal research platforms including LexisNexis and Westlaw.
Experience with case management software such as iManage and PCLaw; familiarity with document review systems is a plus.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and professional correspondence.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document preparation and data management.
Knowledge of procedural law across various jurisdictions relevant to family law cases.
Experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation or general & commercial litigation is advantageous but not required.
Demonstrated research capabilities in areas such as estate planning, environmental law, tribal law & regulations, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, securities law, patent law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), landlord-tenant law, immigration law, or other specialized fields is a plus.
