Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

You will have the opportunity to work in an independent 17025 ISO-accredited laboratory that invests heavily in state of the art instrumentation and analytical technologies and works with a multitude of Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers (MMTC) to provide them with high quality analytical data.

Modern Canna Laboratories is seeking a laboratory manager with experience operating commercial laboratories. You would be joining our laboratory team in Lakeland FL that is responsible for analytical work in a fast paced, high throughput laboratory.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overseeing daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with all state regulations and industry standards
Managing laboratory staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
Ensuring the accuracy and reproducibility of test results through robust quality assurance and control measures
Maintaining laboratory equipment, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting issues as they arise
Developing and revising SOPs to align with evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Overseeing inventory management, ensuring the availability of necessary reagents and consumables
Collaborating with clients to provide technical support and address inquiries about testing services
Ensuring laboratory compliance with ISO 17025 standards, including preparation for audits and inspections
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and testing capabilities
Leading the implementation of new testing methods and technologies

WHAT YOU NEED:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or a related field
4 or more years experience in an analytical laboratory preferred
Experience with the operation and maintenance of LC, GC, and ICP-MS instrumentation preferred
Experience working with a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
Experience working in an ISO 17025 environment preferred

Proficiency in laboratory instrumentation, including LC, GC, and ICP-MS, with an understanding of cannabis-specific methodologies
Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 17025 standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in laboratory operations
Exceptional organizational and project management skills to handle multiple priorities efficiently
Advanced problem-solving abilities, including analytical thinking and decision-making under pressure
Excellent communication skills for clear interaction with clients, team members, and stakeholders
A commitment to upholding the highest standards of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality in all aspects of work
A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail
