Full Job Description

Experienced Bankruptcy Attorney

We are seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to join our growing legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong bankruptcy background who is looking for a position with meaningful responsibility, experienced support staff, and the opportunity to help develop and grow an established bankruptcy practice.

The ideal candidate is confident handling bankruptcy matters independently, enjoys working directly with clients, and has the experience and judgment necessary to manage cases from initial consultation through resolution.

What You’ll Do

Represent individuals and businesses in bankruptcy and bankruptcy-related matters.
Counsel clients regarding bankruptcy options, strategy, and available alternatives.
Manage cases from initial consultation through filing, litigation, confirmation, discharge, or other resolution.
Review and oversee preparation of petitions, schedules, statements, plans, and other bankruptcy filings.
Draft and argue motions, objections, responses, and other contested matters.
Attend § 341 Meetings of Creditors, confirmation hearings, motion hearings, and other court proceedings.
Handle creditor claims, trustee objections, plan modifications, adversary matters, and other issues arising during bankruptcy proceedings.
Negotiate with trustees, creditors, lenders, and opposing counsel when appropriate.
Work closely with experienced paralegals and support staff to efficiently manage cases, filings, and deadlines.
Develop strong client relationships and provide practical, responsive legal counsel.
Contribute to the continued development and growth of the firm’s bankruptcy practice.

What We’re Looking For

Active member in good standing of The Florida Bar.
Meaningful prior bankruptcy experience is required.
Admission to practice before the applicable United States Bankruptcy Court(s) preferred.
Strong knowledge of bankruptcy law, procedure, and practice.
Ability to independently evaluate cases, develop strategy, and manage an active caseload.
Courtroom experience and confidence handling hearings and contested matters.
Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Professional, approachable, and effective with clients.
Entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in helping build and expand a bankruptcy practice are a plus.
