Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Beverage Director Sommelier, where your passion for wine/beverage and exceptional customer service will elevate our dining experience to new heights. In this role, you will lead the wine program, curate an impressive selection of wines, and provide expert guidance to guests seeking the perfect pairing. Your culinary background and leadership skills will drive sales, enhance guest satisfaction, and uphold the highest standards of food and beverage service in a vibrant, fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in fine dining, hospitality, and team management while fostering a memorable experience for every guest.

Duties

Curate and manage an extensive wine list, ensuring a diverse selection that complements our menu offerings
Provide expert wine recommendations and serve wine with professionalism, ensuring proper presentation and service techniques
Lead staff training on wine knowledge, service standards, and upselling strategies to maximize sales opportunities
Oversee menu planning in collaboration with culinary teams to create harmonious food and beverage pairings
Drive sales through effective upselling techniques while maintaining excellent customer service and hospitality standards
Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and inventory control
Maintain compliance with food safety regulations, proper food handling procedures, and responsible alcohol service practices

Qualifications

Proven experience in restaurant or food service environments, preferably within fine dining or banquet settings
Extensive wine knowledge with the ability to educate staff and guests about different varieties, regions, and tasting notes
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced hospitality setting
Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for efficient transaction processing
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on personalized guest interactions and satisfaction
Knowledge of food safety standards, serving protocols, and food handling procedures
Culinary experience or background is highly desirable to enhance menu planning and food pairing expertise
