About Sanctuary Clinics Monticello
Sanctuary Clinics Monticello is a Christ-centered residential behavioral health community serving adults navigating trauma, addiction, anxiety and depression, and psychotic disorders. Our model integrates clinical care, spiritual formation, spiritual direction, and biblical counseling into a single transformational journey across four cohorts: Still Waters, Hagar’s Well, Dream Builders, and Genesis. Worship and the presence of God are not add-ons here —they are the atmosphere in which healing takes place.
Position Summary
We are hiring a Worship Leader & Spiritual Coordinator — a spiritually mature, musically gifted, and organizationally strong leader who will do two things exceptionally well:
1. Cultivate an atmosphere of worship across the entire Monticello community — leading Sunday morning services, Nights of Worship, and opening moments of groups and sessions with music that invites the presence of God and moves residents into genuine encounter.
2. Coordinate and steward the Spiritual Department — owning the calendar, scheduling, and organizational rhythm of every spiritual counseling session, spiritual service, and spiritual group offered to residents.
This is a hybrid ministry and operations role. The right person carries a shepherd’s heart, a worshiper’s spirit, and an administrator’s discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
Lead worship for Sunday morning services at Sanctuary Monticello, planning set lists that align with the message and the spiritual season of the community.
Plan, promote, and lead Nights of Worship on a regular cadence, creating extended space for encounter, prayer, and ministry.
Provide short worship on-ramps to open therapy groups, spiritual formation groups, chapel gatherings, and special sessions when requested by clinical or pastoral leadership.
Build and steward a worship team of residents, staff, and community volunteers — recruiting, auditioning, developing, and pastoring musicians and vocalists.
Maintain and care for worship instruments, sound equipment, CCLI licensing, chord charts, and song libraries.
Carry a pastoral posture on the platform — reading the room spiritually, responding to what the Holy Spirit is doing, and leading residents into freedom, surrender, and worship.
Spiritual Department Coordination
Own the master schedule for the Spiritual Department, including:
o Individual spiritual counseling and spiritual direction sessions
o Chapel services, Sunday services, and Nights of Worship
o Spiritual formation groups, biblical counseling groups, and devotional gatherings
o Special services (baptisms, communion, testimony nights, guest speakers)
Coordinate assignments between residents and spiritual directors, biblical counselors, and pastoral staff —ensuring every resident has appropriate spiritual touchpoints across their stay.
Maintain accurate records of spiritual services delivered, attendance, and completion of spiritual milestones as part of each resident’s treatment plan.
Partner with the Clinical Director, Program Directors, and Cohort Leads to integrate spiritual programming into the weekly master schedule without conflict.
Communicate the weekly spiritual calendar clearly to residents, staff, and families.
Support onboarding and scheduling of guest ministers, visiting worship leaders, and outside spiritual contributors.
Community & Pastoral Presence
Serve as a visible, approachable spiritual presence throughout the campus — available for prayer, encouragement, and simple pastoral conversation with residents and staff.
Participate in staff prayer, devotionals, and spiritual leadership meetings.
Uphold Sanctuary’s theological posture: grace-centered, New Covenant, surrender-based, and integrated with clinical care.
Qualifications
Required
Demonstrated experience leading worship in a local church, ministry, or treatment setting (minimum 3+ years preferred).
Strong proficiency on a lead worship instrument (guitar or keys) with confident lead vocals.
A clear personal walk with Jesus, active in a local church, and aligned with Sanctuary’s Statement of Faith.
Proven administrative and scheduling ability — comfortable owning a complex calendar and coordinating multiple people and services.
Excellent interpersonal and pastoral communication skills; able to relate with compassion to residents navigating psychiatric, trauma, and addiction issues.
Working proficiency with Google Workspace (Calendar, Docs, Sheets) or comparable tools.
Ability to pass a background check and maintain the confidentiality standards of a behavioral health environment.
Preferred
Formal ministry training, ordination, or theological education (Bible college, seminary, or equivalent mentored formation).
Experience or coursework in spiritual direction, spiritual formation, or biblical counseling.
Familiarity with residential behavioral health, recovery, or discipleship program environments.
Basic proficiency running live sound, ProPresenter, or planning tools like Planning Center.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $40,000–$50,000 per year, commensurate with experience
