We're Looking for a Fire Alarm Professional — Not Just an Installer
Looking for an experienced Senior / Lead Fire Alarm Technician who understands fire alarm systems from the ground up.
We're looking for someone who can be handed a set of plans and specifications, understand the complete system, and help take a project from rough-in through programming, testing, inspection, and final acceptance.

What You'll Be Doing
You will work on a variety of fire alarm projects including new construction, renovations, system upgrades, service work, troubleshooting, and annual inspections.
Responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting fire alarm plans, electrical drawings, specifications, riser diagrams, sequence of operations, and device layouts
- Installing complete fire alarm systems from the ground up
- Laying out devices and coordinating installation with project drawings and field conditions
- Installing and terminating fire alarm panels, NAC panels, power supplies, initiating devices, notification appliances, modules, relays, and associated equipment
- Programming and configuring fire alarm control panels and associated devices
- Troubleshooting ground faults, open circuits, shorts, communication problems, device failures, and programming issues
- Performing system startup, testing, commissioning, and final acceptance
- Understanding addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
- Testing initiating and notification circuits
- Understanding monitoring, supervisory, and trouble conditions
- Coordinating fire alarm interfaces with HVAC, elevators, fire sprinkler systems, smoke control, access control, generators, and other building systems
- Performing annual fire alarm inspections, testing, and documentation
- Preparing systems for AHJ / Fire Marshal inspections
- Working directly with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, general contractors, and other trades
- Identifying problems in the field and helping develop solutions before they impact the project
- Maintaining clean, professional, code-compliant installations
- Assisting with training and mentoring less-experienced technicians when needed
The Person We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who has real fire alarm experience and is comfortable taking responsibility for a system.
The ideal candidate:
- Has several years of hands-on fire alarm installation and service experience
- Can read a complete set of construction drawings and understand how the fire alarm system fits into the overall project
- Understands fire alarm system programming and commissioning
- Is experienced troubleshooting systems in the field
- Understands NFPA 72 and applicable NEC requirements
- Understands proper wiring methods, circuit supervision, voltage drop, battery calculations, and system documentation
- Can perform annual inspections and system testing
- Understands the process of taking a fire alarm system from installation through final inspection and acceptance
- Is organized and documents work clearly
- Communicates professionally with customers, contractors, inspectors, and coworkers
- Can work independently without needing constant supervision
- Takes ownership of their projects and follows through until the job is complete
Experience We Value
Experience with major fire alarm platforms is highly desirable, including systems such as:
Notifier Fire-Lite Honeywell Silent Knight EST / Edwards Siemens Simplex Potter Gamewell-FCI or similar systems
Manufacturer certifications and programming credentials are a major plus.
NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification is highly preferred.
Florida fire alarm / low-voltage licensing or certifications are also a plus.
