Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technologist to join our cardiovascular clinic. The ideal candidate will be proficient in performing echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, arterial studies, and venous reflux studies while delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Conduct echocardiograms (ultrasound imaging of the heart) to evaluate cardiac structure and function, including stress tests when applicable.
Perform vascular ultrasound imaging to assess blood flow, vessel integrity, and detect blockages or abnormalities.
Assist in interventional radiology procedures and cardiac catheterizations by providing real-time imaging support.
Analyze cardiac rhythms and perform cardiac diagnostics such as arrhythmia detection and interpretation of vital signs during procedures.
Operate medical equipment with proficiency, including Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for image storage and retrieval.
Maintain strict aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during invasive procedures.
Document all diagnostic evaluations thoroughly, ensuring accuracy for medical records and communication with the healthcare team.

Skills

Extensive knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to echocardiography and vascular imaging.
Proficiency in sonography techniques specific to cardiac and vascular assessments.
Experience with cardiac stress testing, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac rhythm analysis.
Familiarity with interventional cardiology procedures such as cardiac catheterization within a cath lab environment.
Ability to operate advanced medical equipment used in diagnostic evaluation of cardiovascular conditions.
Strong understanding of emergency medicine protocols, including Level I Trauma Center experience or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and explaining procedures to patients effectively.
