WHAT WE DO

SHIELD Proactive Maintenance (Shield) performs exterior assessments and repair work on single and multifamily residential buildings. Our clients are Property Management Companies (PMC), as opposed to homeowners, and as a result we interact with landlords, agents and tenant daily.

Our workforce comprises of inspectors, service technicians and a support team.

Inspectors Role:

The inspector is a key representative of SHIELD, with a diverse skillset comprising of defect diagnosis, technical problem solving, skillful communication through our reporting system, and practical repair work.

The inspectors:

· Plan their daily routes across their regions

· Initiate communications with tenants on time

· Assess the condition of properties accurately

· Identify small repair work which can be completed by themselves immediately

· Identify larger repair work to be completed by the service team

· Compile well-structured scopes for pricing

· Complete the appropriate inspections forms

· Complete minor repairs to the roof and exterior of homes as identified

· Do all these tasks safely, taking responsibility for their safety and well-being on the job

· Report to their team leads regularly

· Work on improving their expertise though experience and research alongside the training provided by SHIELD

SHIELD inspectors work on the following project categories:

1. Proactive Annual Assessments:

The inspectors tend to designated addresses each month and perform general whole exterior assessments of rental properties. The assessments address the condition of all exterior building elements, including everything from the roof down to the foundations and concrete flatwork as well as fences and surrounding structures. (SHIELD does not assess mechanical, electrical or plumbing assets).

The inspectors

· assess what, if any maintenance work is required

· designate an urgency level to the issues

· determine if SHIELD is able to perform the repairs

· compile the scope of materials required to complete the repair work

· complete minor repairs such as roof shingle replacement, dryer vent servicing, fence picket repairs

2. Work Order Assessments:

When issues arise at a property, the PMC will place request to investigate and solve the issues if possible. The issues may be emergency retailed, such as hail or storm damage, or maintenance related, such as roof or siding deterioration or animal and tree damage.

The inspectors

· diagnose the current problems and propose solutions for them

· determine if SHIELD is able to perform the repairs

· compile the scope of materials required to complete the repair work

Training, Probation and Deployment

Inspectors undergo a 6-12 week training and probationary period consisting of service team training and inspector training. The duration of training depends on their industry and work experience, self-confidence and teachability. During this period we can establish if you are a great fit for our dynamic team

At the end of a successful training period, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to the learning cycle in our one-day test when you display all your newly acquired skills and show that you are on the path of achievement

Compensation

Training and probation period: $20/hour

Deployed as Inspector:

Your Compensations structure will be based on our unit count incentive and ranking system which relies on your productivity. Compensation ranges between 60-87k per year. Average compensation for our inspectors is over 70k per year.

Benefits

Shield offers a 401k plan to all full-time employees. Shield will match 100% of employee contributions into the employee’s 401k plan up to 6% of the employee’s total compensation.

PTO: 19 Days Paid Time Off

Federal holidays observed:

Christmas Day - 25 December

Thanksgiving Day - 4th Thursday in November
