Full Job Description

Real Estate Paralegal (Banking / Loan Closing)
Salary: $50,000 – $72,000 (Commensurate with Experience)

About the Role:

We're a busy, fast-growing real estate law firm in the heart of Flushing, and we're looking for a sharp, motivated Residential Loan Closing Paralegal to join our team. You'll be a central point of contact on active loan files, communicating directly with clients, lenders, title companies, and attorneys from file opening through closing and beyond. You'll develop real expertise in the full arc of residential loan transactions and work alongside attorneys who are invested in your growth. Bilingual proficiency in English, and Mandarin Chinese is preferred — our clients are predominantly Mandarin-speaking and clear communication is essential to what we do.

What you'll do:

Manage loan files end-to-end: from opening through post-closing, you own the file and keep it moving
Serve as a key point of contact for borrowers, borrowers' counsel, lenders, and title companies — communicating professionally and proactively at every stage
Conduct preliminary title reviews and provide analysis and flags for supervising attorneys
Prepare and coordinate closing documents including pre-CDs, CD updates, and HUDs
Track critical deadlines — rate locks, commitment expirations, outstanding conditions — and drive resolution before they become problems
Coordinate all parties for closings and ensure packages are complete and accurate
Handle post-closing follow-up and file wrap-up with the same attention you brought to opening

What we're looking for:

1+ year of residential loan closing or banking paralegal experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF software; experience with REMMIS (Digital RE / Close IT+) or comparable case management software a plus
Someone who can hold multiple active files without dropping the ball — organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
Strong communicator who's comfortable owning client-facing correspondence
A problem-solver who thinks ahead, flags issues early, and doesn't wait to be told what to do next
Paralegal certificate or relevant college degree is preferred
