Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Deputy Compliance Officer is responsible for overseeing and fulfilling the responsibilities of the Bank Secrecy Act (“BSA”)/Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) and Sanctions Compliance Program, including initiating, maintaining, and revising applicable policies and procedures. Additionally, the Deputy Compliance Officer provides general administrative support to the U.S. Compliance Officer.

Job Responsibilities

Assisting the U.S Compliance Officer in implementing an effective and comprehensive Compliance Program
Overseeing and managing all aspects of the Bank's day-to-day BSA/AML & Sanctions Compliance operations including Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, and Know Your Customer functions
Working with the U.S Compliance Officer to oversee and monitor general
Corporate Compliance operations including Compliance Monitoring, Compliance Testing, and Compliance Training.
Regularly providing updates to the U.S. Compliance Officer on the Bank's BSA/AML & Sanctions Compliance Program as well as Corporate Compliance Program
Escalating material BSA/AML & Sanctions compliance matters to governance bodies and senior management
Leading and assisting the U.S Compliance Officer on communications with regulators as necessary, and manage regulatory/audit requests
Assisting the U.S Compliance Officer in periodically conducting Risk Assessments of the Branch’s BSA/AML & Sanctions Compliance Risks as well as Corporate Compliance Risks
Managing and devise monthly reporting metrics for governance bodies
Assisting the U.S Compliance Officer with all aspects of the internal and external audit processes
Managing Requests for Information (“RFI”) submitted by the Compliance Analysts, for transactions requiring further investigation
Overseeing the development of monthly reports with key metrics, qualitative information, and substantive analysis on patterns and overall impact to the BSA/AML and Sanctions Compliance Program
Conducting performance measurement review of the Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Screening investigation, as well as other Compliance KRI/KPI’s
Participating in remediation of compliance deficiencies identified by internal and external examinations
Overseeing and, as appropriate, conducting Quality Control (“QC”) reviews of Transaction Monitoring, KYC reviews, and Sanctions Screening investigations
Reviewing compliance testing and monitoring reports conducted by the Compliance Team
Overseeing and monitoring adherence to the Bank’s Compliance policies and procedures
Supporting the U.S. Compliance Officer in the execution of his/her responsibilities
Overseeing and managing the activities of Compliance Analysts

Job Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and preferably 5+ years work experience in corporate compliance and/or BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance roles with subject matter expertise in the U.S. regulatory environment, emphasizing the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC/Sanctions programs
