Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the dentist in various pediatric procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentists during dental procedures, including but not limited to, chairside assisting and handing instruments.
Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring they are disinfected, organized and properly stocked.
Take x-rays.
Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care and preventive dental practices.
Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials as needed
Sterilize and disinfect instruments according to regulations
Record and maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, clinical notes and medical histories.
Maintain compliance with infection control and OSHA regulations to uphold the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
Schedule appointments and review upcoming appointments to ensure efficient operation in the office.
Assist patients at our surgery center
Additional responsibilities as a assigned

Skills

CPR certification
1+ years of dental assistant experience required!
One year of experience working with or caring for children preferred
One year of customer service experience required
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with patients and fellow team members
Good hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity and precision
Basic computer and data entry skills
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and familiarity with dental terminology.
Understanding of infection control procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Experience with medical coding for accurate billing processes is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a busy clinic setting.
A proactive approach to learning new techniques and staying updated on industry best practices.
