Full Job Description

Solaris Paper is a North American towel and tissue manufacturer that produces premium bath tissue, paper towels, and facial tissue for retail and commercial markets. We also provide premium private branded products at a competitive value.

Job Summary

The Category Buyer is responsible for leading sourcing and category execution activities for assigned spend areas to deliver competitive cost, reliable supply, policy compliance, and supplier performance improvement. The role manages end-to-end sourcing support for designated categories, coordinates cross-functional requirements, drives supplier follow-up and issue resolution, and contributes market insight, spend analysis, and commercial evaluation to category planning.

Duties

Own day-to-day execution of assigned categories or sub-categories in alignment with category strategies set by the Head of Procurement.
Support development and periodic refresh of category plans through spend analysis, supplier mapping, market input, benchmarking, and identification of sourcing opportunities.
Translate category priorities into sourcing waves, implementation actions, and stakeholder follow-through for assigned spend areas.
Drive delivery of category value levers such as cost optimization, specification alignment, supply continuity, service improvement, and compliance discipline.

Requirements

5–8 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category support, or a related supply chain role.

Demonstrated experience managing sourcing events, supplier negotiations, commercial comparisons, and purchasing execution for assigned spend areas.

Experience in a manufacturing or operations environment is strongly preferred.

Exposure to categories such as OEM, packaging, spare parts, base paper, indirect spend, or product development-related sourcing is advantageous

Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP / procurement systems and working with procurement reports, spend data, and supplier performance metrics.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
