Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure exceptional food quality, and lead culinary staff in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering outstanding dining experiences. This role involves managing food production, inventory control, menu planning, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hospitality.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Oversee food production processes, including catering, banquet events, and fine dining service.
Manage inventory levels, control food costs, and oversee procurement to ensure freshness and quality.
Develop and update menus in collaboration with executive management, incorporating dietary considerations and current culinary trends.
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain sanitation standards across the kitchen.
Lead shift management, including scheduling staff, delegating tasks, and monitoring performance.
Oversee food handling procedures to guarantee quality and safety standards are met consistently.
Assist in training staff on culinary techniques, safety protocols, and customer service excellence.
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery during events or regular operations.
Maintain a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Proven experience in upscale casual dining environments with strong banquet or catering background preferred.
Supervising or team management experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Extensive culinary skills with proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu planning.
Knowledge of inventory management, inventory control systems, and food cost analysis.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and dietary accommodations.
Experience in restaurant management or food service management roles is highly desirable.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle shift management efficiently.
Background in hospitality or the food industry with a focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.
Spanish speaking is a plus but not required.
