PrintCrafters is seeking a reliable, hands-on Print Production & Shop Manager to lead daily print-shop operations. This is not an office-only management role—the right candidate must be comfortable working on computers, reviewing print files, operating production and finishing equipment, managing job schedules, and helping customers from order intake through completed pickup or delivery.
We are rebuilding and growing our print operation with online web-to-print ordering. We need someone organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to keep jobs moving accurately and on time in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate has experience with digital print production, copy/print equipment, finishing equipment, job scheduling, basic file checks, customer service, and shop workflow.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily print-shop workflow from order intake through production, quality control, and customer pickup or delivery.
- Operate and oversee digital printers, copiers, wide-format printers, cutters, laminators, folders, bindery, and other finishing equipment as applicable.
- Review customer artwork and production files for correct size, resolution, bleed, margins, color, quantity, and print readiness.
- Use computers for email, online orders, job tracking, customer communication, production schedules, inventory, and basic reporting.
- Manage web-to-print orders, including artwork uploads, proof requests, customer approvals, order status, and completion notifications.
- Prioritize jobs based on due date, turnaround time, payment status, production capacity, and customer commitments.
- Maintain high standards for print quality, color, trimming, finishing, packaging, and final presentation.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment, software, and production problems; coordinate service calls when needed.
- Maintain inventory of paper, toner/ink, vinyl, laminate, packaging, and other production supplies.
- Keep the shop clean, safe, organized, and ready for customer pickups and production work.
- Track job costs, material use, production errors, reprints, refunds, and turnaround times.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding quotes, artwork requirements, proofs, job status, pickup, delivery, and production issues.
- Help train and supervise additional print-production staff as the company grows.
- Follow company pricing, discount, payment, and quality-control policies.
Print-shop managers commonly oversee scheduling, production, job-costing, inventory, equipment maintenance, customer communication, quality control, and staff workflow. This position is intentionally structured as a hands-on production-management role.applitrack+1
