Position Summary
The Skilled Trades Recruiter is responsible for managing full-cycle recruitment
efforts for skilled trades professionals across industrial, manufacturing,
commercial construction, and technical operations environments. This role
focuses on sourcing, screening, qualifying, and placing highly skilled candidates
in positions including electricians, HVAC technicians, welders, millwrights,
industrial mechanics, controls technicians, maintenance technicians, and other
specialized trades.
The ideal candidate understands the skilled trades workforce, recognizes the
importance of certifications and experience, and can quickly identify and engage
qualified talent in a competitive labor market. This position partners closely with
hiring managers, site supervisors, operations teams, and candidates to ensure
successful placements while supporting the overall workforce needs of
LaborWorx clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Recruiting:
Manage the complete recruitment lifecycle from job intake through
placement and onboarding.
Recruit for temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire skilled trades positions.
Partner with hiring managers, site supervisors, and operations leaders to
understand staffing needs, job requirements, qualifications, and project
expectations.
Support workforce planning, project mobilization, employee transfers,
demobilization, and backfilling efforts.
Maintain ownership of candidate pipelines and ensure timely
communication throughout the hiring process.
Candidate Sourcing & Screening
Source qualified skilled trades candidates through job boards, LaborWorx
recruiting platforms, social media, trade schools, apprenticeship programs,
industry associations, networking events, and referrals.
Proactively identify and engage both active and passive job seekers.
Review resumes and worker profiles to evaluate relevant skills,
certifications, licenses, experience, and work history.
Conduct phone, video, and in-person interviews to assess technical
qualifications, reliability, safety awareness, and overall fit.
Verify applicable trade credentials, certifications, and qualifications,
including but not limited to:
o Journeyman/Master Electrician licenses
o OSHA certifications
o EPA certifications
o NFPA 70E
o Welding certifications
o Industry-specific credentials
Candidate & Client Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the
recruiting and placement process.
Build strong relationships with skilled trades professionals to support
current and future project opportunities.
Coordinate interviews, background checks, drug screenings, reference
checks, and onboarding requirements.
Manage candidate expectations related to compensation, schedule,
location, travel requirements, and project details.
Communicate regularly with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure
recruiting priorities and expectations are aligned.
Recruiting Operations & Reporting
Maintain accurate candidate records within ATS/CRM systems and
LaborWorx recruiting platforms.
Create and maintain sourcing plans to support current and future
workforce demands.
Track recruiting metrics including pipeline activity, time-to-fill, source of
hire, placement activity, and candidate engagement.
Provide updates on recruiting progress, challenges, and labor market
conditions during team meetings.
Maintain a strong database of qualified skilled workers between active
recruiting projects.
Industry Engagement & Market Knowledge
Represent LaborWorx at career fairs, trade school events, networking
events, and industry functions.
Stay informed on skilled trades labor market trends, compensation
expectations, certifications, licensing requirements, and workforce
challenges.
Develop an understanding of regional labor markets and competitor
activity to support successful recruiting strategies.
Travel occasionally to job sites, hiring locations, career fairs, or client
meetings as needed.
Qualifications
2+ years of recruiting experience, preferably within skilled trades,
industrial, construction, manufacturing, utilities, or technical staffing
environments.
Experience recruiting temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire candidates.
Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical trades and related
workforce requirements.
Experience recruiting roles such as electricians, welders, HVAC technicians,
millwrights, industrial mechanics, controls technicians, and maintenance
professionals preferred.
Experience using ATS/CRM platforms and sourcing tools such as LinkedIn
Recruiter, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, or similar platforms.
Ability to manage multiple job openings and candidate pipelines in a fast-
paced environment.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal
teams.
Willingness to travel occasionally for job sites, recruiting events, or client
meetings.

Communication Methods:
Email: Daily/weekly updates, client communication, recruiting updates,
and documentation.
Slack: Team communication, quick updates, and internal collaboration.
Zoom: Meetings, presentations, and team discussions.
Remote employees are expected to remain available through Slack or phone
during scheduled work hours, respond to emails within 24 business hours unless
otherwise communicated, attend required company meetings, and maintain
regular communication with their manager and team.

supports productivity and effective communication. Remote employees should
have a reliable internet connection, a workspace free from excessive distractions,
and the ability to dedicate full attention to assigned responsibilities during
