Full Job Description

Position Summary

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) requires one (1) Executive Secretariat Program Manager – Publications & Issuances to manage the lifecycle of WRNMMC publications and issuances. The Program Manager will ensure policies, administrative instructions, procedures, and related documents are properly coordinated, compliant with applicable guidance, accurately maintained, and aligned with Executive Secretariat requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum five (5) years of executive-level administrative, program management, or correspondence management experience in a federal government or military environment.
Experience managing official correspondence, task-tracking systems, and executive-level administrative workflows.
Experience interacting with senior government, military, or executive personnel and their staffs.
Knowledge of military command structures, organizational relationships, and government administrative processes.
Knowledge of applicable correspondence, records management, and administrative policies and procedures.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to become proficient within thirty (30) days in designated government correspondence tracking and SharePoint systems.
Strong executive-level writing, editing, proofreading, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience within DoD, DHA, or Military Treatment Facility environments is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the WRNMMC Publications and Issuances Program within the Executive Secretariat.
Oversee the development, coordination, review, approval, dissemination, periodic review, revision, and cancellation of publications and issuances.
Review publications for compliance, format, clarity, structure, consistency, and alignment with applicable DoD, DHA, and WRNMMC guidance.
Coordinate required reviews with legal, clinical, safety, administrative, and other stakeholders.
Track publication actions, review cycles, suspense dates, revisions, and approvals through established systems.
Maintain the official publications repository, including version control, accessibility, archival, and disposition of obsolete or superseded documents.
Develop and maintain templates, formatting standards, procedures, and guidance for publications and issuances.
Provide training, technical assistance, and corrective guidance to directorates developing or revising publications.
Maintain centralized tracking data and provide status reports, metrics, trend analysis, and information on overdue actions and program performance.
Ensure consistency between policies, procedures, forms, and related administrative products.
Support Executive Secretariat functions, including correspondence, records, forms, and task management during surge periods or as directed.
