ABOX PACKAGING COMPANY

JOB TITLE: 2nd Pressman

DEPARTMENT: Printing Press

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to assist 1st Pressman in the overall operation on the printing press.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Reviews job ticket requirements while interacting with other press personnel.
Verifies that appropriate approvals for color, copy, coating, stock type, stock gauge and stock size are congruent with job ticket instructions and job components staged for use on press.
Reviews coating K/O requirements.
Maintains appropriate ink, coating and water levels during press run.
Reviews pull sheets from press run to verify color, copy, and position match approvals.
Responsible for prepping press for next production run; sheets, plates, ink.
Ensures that nonconforming material is segregated and tagged prior to leaving the pressroom.
Responsible for safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent GED
Two years manufacturing experience or a combination of experience and education
