Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Nurse to join our dynamic clinical research team. In this vital role, the Research Nurse is responsible for coordinating and managing clinical research studies while ensuring compliance with study protocols, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards. This role serves as a liaison between patients, investigators, sponsors, and clinical staff to support the successful execution of clinical trials. The Research Nurse provides direct patient care, education, study coordination, and accurate documentation throughout the research process.

Duties

Screening potential subjects, obtaining informed consent, performing clinical procedures (e.g., blood draws, ECGs), and monitoring adverse events
Review study protocols and ensure all research activities are conducted according to protocol requirements
Screen, recruit, and enroll eligible study participants
Obtain and document informed consent in compliance with regulatory standards
Schedule and conduct study visits, procedures, and follow-up appointments
Monitor participant progress and report adverse events, serious adverse events, and protocol deviations
Maintain accurate source documentation and case report forms (CRFs)
Ensure timely and accurate data collection and entry into sponsor systems
Ensure proper documentation review, regulatory compliance, and adherence to HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality
Monitor patient safety by conducting regular assessments, vital signs, blood sampling, and documenting clinical observations
Review medical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with study protocols
Collect, manage, and analyze data using statistical software and adhere to CDISC standards for data formatting
Maintaining detailed records of patient data, treatment, and progress in case report forms (CRFs).
Preparing and administering study medications or vaccines according to protocol.
Working with Principal Investigators (PIs), IRB members, and study sponsors.

Qualifications

Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment required
Minimum 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience required
Strong knowledge of patient safety protocols, data management, clinical skills, and regulatory compliance.
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple studies and priorities simultaneously
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, blood sampling techniques, vital signs monitoring, and CDISC standards
Strong knowledge of clinical trials management, medical terminology, and regulatory requirements including FDA regulations and ICH GCP certification
Familiarity with EMR systems, EDC platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Certifications (Preferred)

Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), if applicable

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Frequent use of computers and medical equipment

Work Environment

Clinical research site, physician practice
Fast-paced healthcare and research environment
May require occasional early morning, evening, or weekend study visits depending on protocol requirements
